We take our first day trip in the Chinook

So a lot has happened today! We took our inaugural trip to our first national park today.

The park – Cape Canaveral National Seashore. This is a beautiful park area with bird watching, manatees dolphins and the pristine Playalinda Beach. Today we mostly saw alligators!

The weather was beautiful – 88 degrees, blue skies and a nice breeze coming off the ocean. Dan swam while I dozed in the beach chair underneath our Beach Buddy. Usually I listen to a book on tape while we’re at the beach but there is no cell service at the Seashore.

Beach Buddy is a homemade air tent. We spent about $20 on a 16 ft bungee tent pole and threaded it through the end of a sheet. We place both ends in the sand and tie off the center with a bag of sand. The wind blows the sheet out overhead and creates a huge shade.

After a nice walk we went to the Chinook – still searching for a name for her. We lifted the edge of the couch and boom, we had a bed and laid down for a short nap. Heavenly. I just can’t wait until we take our big trip!

A lot of people have asked about the interior so here are a few photos.
